Over $750 has been raised to help the Mwanga/Chilanangwa family put a roof over their head. The first monies helped them purchase metal roofing sheets and timbers. They had enough money in first installation to cover a 5x6 meter area. The remainder of the roof was covered by old bed sheets stitched together using the sewing machine Irene received thru a matching RecycloCraftz grant. Even though there are no windows or doors the family members are sleeping safely protected from malaria carrying mosquitoes. Please donate now to continue to help get a roof over the head of this dear family.
June 2015: The video and slideshow below show the progress made so far- THANKS TO YOUR DONATIONS! The work has just begun, and the Mwanga/Chilangwa family stills needs to complete their roof, install doors and windows, etc.
May 2015: This slideshow showcases the current state of the future Chilangwa home, as well as living conditions across Lukasa, Zambia. Mary, her daughter Irene, and their family are not alone in facing these challenges.
